Yes, you read that right. Some developers buy buildings… others buy land…We bought a ROAD.
And not just any road;
a perfectly located stretch of Hill Road that will soon play a starring role in the future of our 20 Hill community.
Take a peek at the shaded area below; our newest “piece of real estate with a speed limit.”

Why on Earth Would Anyone Buy a Road?
Glad you asked.
As part of our ongoing work to bring Phase III — a 132-unit, 8-storey seniors apartment community to life, we needed additional space for parking and site circulation. And as it turns out, the most logical (and surprisingly elegant) solution was to purchase the unused northern portion of Hill Road.
What Does This Mean for Phase III?
In short: great things.
The addition of this land helps us:
Create proper parking and circulation for our 132-unit expansion
Meet all technical requirements for emergency services and waste collection
Maintain walkability and smooth vehicle flow
Protect the natural landscape and creek corridor
Ensure the design remains thoughtful, functional, and community-focused
This newly acquired “road-to-nowhere” is becoming a “road-to-something-pretty-exciting.”
What’s Next?
As the City finalizes the closure and sale, and as we continue advancing the Phase III design and planning process, this newly acquired piece of land becomes one more building block in creating a vibrant, accessible, beautifully connected seniors community right here in Lively.
And honestly? We’re pretty proud of our new road. Not everyone can say that.
